101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce

Tip # 47. Get a manicure. This is just me, but when my hands look good, I feel more beautiful and confident. And during a midlife divorce, anything legal that makes you feel more beautiful and confident, you should do! I love manicures, so I give myself one every so often. But those times that I have treated myself to a professional manicure, I not only love the sensual pleasure of it, I find myself using my hands more gracefully and graciously. I had a manicure on the day I first got married. I didn’t have an engagement ring, but I remember looking at my hand and thinking how beautiful my ring looked. After my divorce, seeing that white space on my finger where my ring had always been made me sad, so I bought several inexpensive rings to cover up that empty spot. Just for fun, at my boot camps I always put a little beaded ring in every packet of information, because we tend to get sidetracked by that visual empty place. Get your own funky ring. Get a manicure. Wiggle your fingers! Wave at someone! Clap! Work! Snap! Touch! Play! Be proud of your hands and all they have accomplished. See how much fun your hands can have this very day!
