101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce

Tip # 46. Watch the sun come up. Pick a day this week, make some coffee or a pot of tea and sit outside somewhere and watch a new day begin. I know during a midlife divorce, sleep is often a problem especially in the beginning. You may have just gone to sleep! Still, it is rejuvenating to think about having a brand new day of life. Even though you may feel this is not the life you want, seriously consider this one new day you have been given. It’s a gift. Think about all the women all over the world waking up to a new day. Ours is most likely the best of the best if you put all the women in the world in a line. Think about what other women are facing. Be grateful for enough food and plenty of water and a certain amount of confidence that you will not be threatened today because of what you believe or who you are. Realize that you have an opportunity to make real choices today. Many women have very few choices. We have more than our share, so choose wisely and joyfully and with grateful hearts. Put your arms up and your head back and say, “Thank you for this glorious new day!” Thank God for life itself with all of its wild craziness and its astounding possibilities. Embrace this new day with all of the opportunities it gives you to shine!
