Tip # 74. Turn the Music Up! Turn everything up a notch! Be a bit bolder than normal. Be optimistic while everyone else seems to be in the doldrums. Be careful that you don’t go so overboard that people either think you’re on something illegal or you’ve totally lost it! But do consciously make the choice to celebrate good things today. In your car, turn your favorite station up one level. Sing along! Be “loud and proud” just for today. I know that during a midlife divorce and the time of recovery after that storm, you’re probably not feeling loud and proud, but act that way anyway. It’s been proven that feelings follow actions. If you act happy, sometimes you start to feel happy. If you act confident, you actually start feeling stronger. If you act positive and upbeat it’s easier for all those positive and upbeat atoms and vibes and things in the world to find you. Today, with all the financial instability and upheaval, everyone is feeling pretty much like you’ve been feeling since your divorce. You have some experience in dealing with adversity, so share your optimism with those who are just starting down that journey. Share those valuable lessons you’ve already learned. Eventually, life works out beautifully for us if we let it, so turn the volume up and lead the parade today!
