101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce

Tip # 45. Get some motivational CDs and listen in your car. During the time I was trying to recover after my midlife divorce, time in the car was hard. I couldn’t listen to music, because I often ended up crying. The news was depressing. So, I invested in some Anthony Robbins motivational tapes with powerful, encouraging suggestions for improving my life. They were expensive (several hundred dollars) but they were worth every penny. They got me focused on taking charge of my life and moving forward. They made me stop feeling sorry for myself and helped me concentrate on positive things I could do every single day to improve my life. I bought them about eight years ago, and I still listen to them every so often. Get some CDs like that. Check them out from the library. Buy them online or at the bookstore. One of our own Radical Women has a CD called Letting Go With Panache. I have a set of Boot Camp CDs with practical recovery information - and they are on sale under Popular Products for $9.99! - (That’s just a couple of trips to Starbucks!) Invest in yourself. Invest in getting better. Invest in your new life! You deserve it! And no telling where it will motivate you to go!
P.S. We also have a Divorce Recovery Boot Camp coming up on October 11 in Kansas City. That's a good investment to start saving for too! (See Empowering Events at www.midlifedivorcerecovery.com).
