101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce

Tip # 44. Go to a farmer’s market. Forget about your divorce! Celebrate nature’s bounty! Take your own recycled sack or a sturdy basket or a canvas bag, and buy a rainbow of fresh vegetables, fruits and flowers. Taste the samples as you go! It’s August and the produce from the backs of local trucks is abundant, colorful and naturally delicious! In almost every community in our country, gardeners have their goods for sale. And most farmers’ markets have booths with fresh bread and pastries, flowers, honey, jam and other yummy things as well! Even if you can’t grow your own fruits and veggies, you can support the local gardeners and farmers who do. Their green beans, onions, tomatoes, peaches, melons and everything else just have that indescribable, warm, homegrown taste. Today, really appreciate this natural, unbelievably precious harvest we have available! Do a stir-fry with fresh veggies. Make pasta with just-picked tomatoes. Boil up some corn. Thank the moms and dads and kids who planted the seeds and did the work to bring them to market. Enjoy every sensual pleasure of this delicious blessing!
