101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce
Tip #31. Take a class at the local Junior College. Find a class that excites you and sign up. Divorce means an end of your marriage. That’s not an easy adjustment, but think about it this way: Your divorce also means a fresh beginning. How the rest of your life turns out is up to you. One way to make sure you move forward is to invest in yourself. Go online or go visit your local Junior College. Update your computer or management skills. Fine tune your resume. Sign up for a ceramics class or European History or creative writing. Think about that passion of yours that might have been covered up by years of being a wife and mother. Get excited about challenging yourself mentally. I went back to the University in a town about 30 miles away and took several classes a semester until I earned my Journalism degree thirty-one years after I started it. That experience was invigorating and enlightening! Learning something new instills confidence and competence. And who knows where it might take you?
