101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce
Tip # 28. Only eat raw, healthy "bear food" all day. There is a group of people called Raw Foodist that eat like this every day. They eat nothing but raw fruits and vegetables, nuts and legumes. Another similar group includes raw fish, meat and eggs to the nuts and berries diet. (Ick! Even as a warrior woman or a final contestant on Survivor, I would have a hard time with that! - Plus, our friends and family might really worry about us if we sat down to a piece of raw meat at dinner – they’re probably worried enough about us as it is during this midlife divorce mess … let’s don’t give them additional reasons to send us away somewhere for serious rehabilitation!) Anyway, I found this on the internet: “Raw foods are alive with nutrients and power. Plants get minerals from the earth's crust and energy from the sun; plants have vitamins and enzymes in their tissues. By eating raw foods we harness this powerful energy.” I would have a hard time eating like that on a long-term basis, but for one day, by taking control of our own food choices, we can be empowered and healthy and energized, not only by the food itself, but by our ability to step out of our comfort zone and do something specifically good for our bodies.
