101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce
Tip #25. Get some barbells or cans from your pantry and use them! When I was in the early stages of my separation and midlife divorce, I started getting serious about working out. I went to a gym almost every day for about an hour and I was also riding my bike a lot. I got barbells, too. The great thing about barbells is you can get your arms in shape while you watch the news or your favorite TV indulgence (Mine is What Not to Wear). And it doesn’t take long to get our arms (with their flabby muscles underneath) back in top shape. Go online or get a booklet at the place you buy your barbells to find out the best weight and the most helpful exercises. And if you can’t afford barbells, cans or plastic bottles from your pantry will work just as well. The important thing is using them. Working out three days a week consistently will make a huge difference in how you look and feel. And it’s not just your arms that will look better, your whole body will start getting tuned up and you’ll feel new confidence, too.
