101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce
Tip #22. Get a funky wild ring to put in that white space where your wedding ring used to be. One of the things that made me most sad in my midlife divorce recovery journey was taking off my wedding ring that had been in its place on my finger for 33 years. Every time I looked down at my finger there was this sick-looking white place on my finger where my ring had been for all those years. No matter what I did with my hands, I noticed that white space and mourned again what had been lost. So one day at a local art fair, I found a woman named LuLu who made rings out of silver and resin. The ring had a sign by it saying, “Secret Decoder Ring.” I bought it immediately! Plus, LuLu said I could put a “hex” on someone without them even knowing! (She was just kidding of course!) At my Midlife Divorce Recovery Boot Camps, I give everyone a funky inexpensive beaded ring to put in place of their wedding ring. If you get a ring, get something that doesn’t look anything at all like a wedding ring. Think of it as symbolizing your new life … your full-of-potential, wonderful new life.
P.S. I’m hoping to offer a R.A.D.I.C.A.L. Ring on my site before long. Stay tuned.
