101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce

Tip #13. Call a friend and go to a sushi bar. They can start you off with something that has never been alive. My grown kids all love sushi. They kept saying, “Try it. You’ll like it!” So one day, my twenty-three-year-old and I went to a Sushi bar. We explained that I was a “Newbie,” and I wanted to start with something that had never been alive swimming in the ocean. My son thinks the Unagi (eel) with Tempura flakes is the best thing. I’m not there yet. But the "chef" did bring out a plate of shushi that I found delicious, and it had no fish in it – living or dead. Next time I’ll try something more daring. (Have you ever heard of the swallowing-live-goldfish-craze?) During your midlife divorce, go ahead and try something outrageous. Your life is more than a little outrageous on this recovery journey anyway, so have a little fun with it. As the R.A.D.I.C.A.L. mantra says, Get Brave! Get Bold! Get Better!
