101 Ways to Move Forward After a Midlife Divorce

Tip #9 - Eat something delicious. Enjoy every single bite. Savor it. Whether you are eating a healthy, colorful, crispy salad or yummy comforting macaroni and cheese or a bowl of ice cream with bananas and chocolate sauce, really take note of the taste and smell and feel of the food (professional chefs actually call it ‘mouth feel.’) Remember what an incredible blessing it is to have not only enough to eat, but to have the healthy, abundant choices of food we have. Eat slowly. Put your fork down between bites. Eat with grateful awareness and delicious delight. By eating thoughtfully, research shows we usually eat less and feel more satisfied. Our body has time to feel full. One perfectly ripe, juicy peach or one really good piece of Russell Stovers or Godiva chocolate gives great pleasure. Choose wisely and then completely enjoy every bite you eat today.
