R.A.D.I.C.A.L. Thoughts

“When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money.” ~Susan Heller

As usual, I feel not quite ready. I’m always worried that I’ve forgotten something. It’s too late to take out half my clothes or to go get more money (I wish I had seen this quote yesterday!) Anyway, I have the chance to go to Japan for ten days with my son and his family! I am really excited. We are visiting his host family from a high school exchange program. They have become good friends and will have our days full of adventure. We should try to look at our divorce recovery journey as an adventure, too. I know that sounds ridiculous when you are in the middle of it, but from eight years out, I can honestly tell you the destination can be worth all the pain of getting there. I’ve always known that God would direct my paths, but on the journey of divorce I was often terrified and more than a little discouraged. In fact, I was more discouraged than I’ve ever been in my life. But let me tell you, God was with me then, too even though I often crowded him out with my own feeble attempts to fix everything. Try to relax and let him guide. I’m going to try to relax and let the pilot fly the plane to Japan. God is with us no matter where we are.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
Joshua 1:9

I will try to do my Daily RADICAL Thoughts from Japan, but I have no idea if that will even be possible. If you don’t get any new messages, you’ll know why. I plan to be back March 20th. If you don’t get any new messages, start rereading the old blogs. God’s speed to you. Love, Suzy
