R.A.D.I.C.A.L. Thoughts
"Be particular. That is, without a doubt, the Best Advice Ever Given in the History of the Entire World."
The Sweet Potato Queens Book of Love
I don't know about you, but when I am saying goodbye to someone I care about, I say things like, "Be careful. Use your brain. Take care of yourself. Have fun." ... or other words of wisdom my loved ones probably pay little attention to anymore. My Mom used to always say "Take care of each other." My Dad says, "Be sure to check your oil." One of the Sweet Potato Queen's Granddaddy Harvey used to always say, "Be Particular." Or as she writes it, "Be P'ticklar." When you think about it that particular advice can be applied to anything. Your choice of friends. What you eat. Your choice of movies or books or what you choose to do with your money. I'm beginning to agree with her, "Be particular" is really good advice and it's simple to remember. In the process of making all those midlife divorce decisions you have to make, or any decisions whatsoever, "be p'ticklar, honey!"
"Whoever is wise let him understand these things. Whoever is intelligent, let him listen. For the paths of the Lord are true and right and good people walk along them."
Hosea 14:9 (The Living Bible)
