"Tension comes from not knowing the outcome."
Randy Harris
I just came from a lecture in Nashville Tennessee aboutwhat it really means to be a Christian. I know that many of you reading this may not be Christians, but I am and I am trying to reach a little deeper into what that means. Does it make my life any different? Am I better able to handle a crisis like divorce or the death of a loved one or other personal devastations? Part of being a Christian is the fact, that true disciples of Christ are peaceful. No human being is peaceful all the time. Things like our divorce distress us and distrub us and for a while destroy our peace. But after time to grieve and time to figure out what this situation really means in my life, I, as a Christian need to be able to get back to peace. I'm learning more every day that peace means seeing the "Big Picture." I learn that God loves me more than I can even imagine and I know the ultimate outcome of my life is secure even though the details are always in contant flux. Most important I can make the choice to trust that God can bring good from even the most desperate circumstances.
And the peace I give you is not like the peace of the world, fleeting and insecure, but a peace that stands through all things.
