R.A.D.I.C.A.L. Thoughts

"We are here on this earth to do good for others. What others are here for, I don't know."
W.H. Auden

I've discovered that in my life, those times that I have just done something good for another person, I feel better ... regardless of how they responded. In fact, if I concern myself too much with how they respond, my actions for goodness are sometimes less effective, somehow less fulfilling. The only person I can control is myself. I cannot make anyone else act a certain way. I can't make anyone else do something good for me or act loving toward me or treat me well. I am only responsible for my actions. When I start making sure that I am doing good for others regardless of how they are treating me or regardless if they are loving me or not, that decision to do good frees me. Making the decision to do the right thing no matter what anyone else is doing takes away a lot of choices. But that decision also brings confidence, fulfillment, power, peace, and joy. Our continued right behavior will eventually bring all good things back to us. Reaping and sowing laws always work. So today, let's all just make the decision to do good for others today no matter what. No matter how they are treating us. No matter if they acknowledge what we are doing or not. No matter if they choose to respond with goodness or not. No matter if we can see the benefits immediately or not. I guarantee the results of choosing to love others and quietly do good will ALWAYS pay off. ALWAYS! It's a promise!

"Do unto other as you would have others do unto you."
"You reap what you sow."
"Don't give up in doing good ..."
"Don't just say you love others, really love them and show it by how you treat them."
The Bible
