R.A.D.I.C.A.L. Thoughts
"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired and success achieved."
Helen Keller
I don't like trial and suffering. I like ease and quiet, myself. But the truth of the matter is, trial and suffering refine us as difficult as the process is. Trial and suffering bring our real self to the forefront, and often how we react in the beginning is not very pretty. I know during the early days of my divorce I did so much crying and worrying and yelling and fretting. In looking back, it would have been better to just calm myself, close my eyes and pray that God would help me see the bigger picture of what was happening. I know that in the storm, the little, up close picture is the only one we can usually see because it is in our face everywhere we turn ... all day long, all night long ... every painful minute. But if we can just remember that we will survive this one way or another and that God promises to bring good out of it if we let him, we can take a deep breath and understand that we are getting stronger whether we can feel it at the moment or not.
"The Spirit of God in you is far stronger than anything in the world."
John 4:5
