"Rest and be thankful."
Title of a Wordsworth Poem
Rest and thanksgiving. Our bodies need rest, our minds need rest and sometimes our spirits need rest. Especially, now, physical rest may be hard to come by. Most people going through a period of stress, sadness, confusion and an overload of decisions to be made find sleep difficult. Our minds are churning, and it's often hard to find any sense of peace. Maybe, as in Wordsworth's poem title, the key lies in being thankful. Sunday has been set aside as a day of rest. But it's usually also a day of praise and thanksgiving. Being thankful and praising God for the innumerable blessings we have takes us out of our immediate circumstances, and moves us to a different level. We transcend our everyday problems and find a joyful calm. Try the rest of praise and thanksgiving today.
Work for six days, and rest on the seventh. ... It will also allow the people of your household ... to be refreshed."
