"Blossom by blossom the spring begins."
A.G. Swinburne 1865
I am ready for spring. That's one reason I love the midwest. Every season is defined and different and has it's own wonderful character, but every year I am ready for spring. Some years I've felt that yearning more intensely. Going through my divorce, I remember writing in my daily planner, "I am so ready for spring in my life." After a cold, difficult season, look for signs of spring in your life. When I was in Wichita for my Mom's birthday last week, we saw and marveled at the tiny but strong shoots of green poking their heads up out of the soil in her front flower bed. Those first signs of new growth are always breathtaking. Tiny little buds are starting to show up on the trees, especially the weeping willows. That's one of my favorite trees because it is one of the first to show that tiny bit of green on it's branches. Today, see if you notice any new life around you. Feel those stirrings of anticipation in nature and in your heart about a new season.
"For the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers are springing up and the time of the singing of birds has come. Yes, spring is here."
Song of Solomon 2:10-12
