Midlife Divorce Recovery

"The greatest part of our happiness depends on our dispositions, not our circumstances."
Martha Washington, First Lady

Martha Washington was onto something! Who we are matters more than the individual happenings of this day. We have each been given a brand new day. How this day turns out is up to each one of us. We decide. We can use today for rage, revenge, regret or despair ... or we can decide on something else. Most of us decide to be undecided ... by default. We are tossed by events and bounced here and there emotionally by whatever happens around us. Perhaps joy will slip in occasionally. But in reality, this day was created for joy. We, ourselves were made for joy. Whatever life throws at you today, you can choose how to react. So this very minute, let's decide that today will be for joy ... and set about to live it.

"This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it."
Psalm 118:24
